Case filed for violation of RA 6539 (Anti-Carnapping Act of
1972)

A carnapping incident transpired at about 8:00 PM of August 14, 2014, wherein a
motorcycle Honda Wave with plate # 2649 EM owned and registered to Melinda L. Serdiño of Nakar St., San
Isidro, Iriga City was taken by unidentified person while parked unattended in
front of the residence of Jehlary Sopeña y Magistrado, 36 yrs old, married, of
Elias Corporal St., San Agustin, Iriga City. At about 4:00 AM of August 15,
2014, the motorcycle was intercepted in a police checkpoint conducted by
Polangui Municipal Police Station in Matacon, Polangui, Albay, while being driven by a person identified as Domar Vela y Laurel, 40 yrs old,
single, a resident of Zone-5, San Francisco, Iriga City. The suspect (Domar) was
brought to Iriga City Police Station and filed a case for Violation of RA 6539
(Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972) was filed against the suspect at the City
Prosecutors Office, Iriga City docketed under IS No. V-01-INQ-14H-097##(Iriga
CPS)
